Snapchat Memories
Compared to other social media sites, Snapchat is still fresh on the scene. If you never understand the attraction behind making every effort to send messages (sister snaps), it will disappear and it may be too old for you.
Teenagers get it. It is debatable whether this allows them to express themselves without being explored by their parents or something else. However, the idea of creating and sharing content later disappeared, and other sites made it part of their (Instagram) story.
While other sites may have moved towards the idea of creating self-destructive content, Snapchat decided to move away from that feature, which is very unique. Whether through Snapchat stories or Snapchat memories, users can create content that constantly beautifies our screens (not in screenshot format).
To help you use Snapchat and its marketing capabilities, here is a quick guide to Snapchat memory.
What are Snapchat Memories?
Snapchat Memories is a feature that the operating system introduced a few years ago. In short, it lets its users store videos and photos on the operating system under the Memories tab. This way, they can revisit, edit, send and re-register them at a later stage.
The main advantage of Snapchat Memories is that it allows users to search for their memories using specific words. To create the new Snapchat story, the platform will use the associated stored memories. Experienced content creators and leading Snapshot influencers are well aware that creating high-quality content is a time-consuming process. So Snapchat memories are great for repurposing content.
Step-by-step Guide to Creating Snapchat Memories in a Snap:
Creating Snapchat Memories
Creating Snapchat memories is very easy. After all, one of its biggest benefits is saving your time in the content creation section. To create your memory (again), all you have to do is:
Step 1: Open the Snapchat app on your mobile
Step 2: Open Snapchat’s camera and record a video or photo
Step 3: Add an element like geofilter, header, filter, or doodle
Step 4: Save it to your memories by clicking the save icon in the lower right corner. If the clip is successfully saved to your Memories photo album, the notification “Saved to Memories” will pop up.
Accessing Snapchat Memories
Accessing Snapchat memory is very easy. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Open your Snapchat app
Step 2: Open the camera
Step 3: Click the button below the recording button. It looks like two cards. All your Snapchat memories will be displayed. What you have recently saved will be displayed above. You can now sort through these videos, photos, and stories. Individual videos and pictures will be labeled with a rectangle, and entire stories will be labeled with a circle.
Sharing Snapchat Memories
Snapchat memories are not automatically shared. If you want to share something specific with your followers, here’s how:
Step 1: Open your Snapchat memories
Step 2: Select the story, video, or image you want to send. To open it, tap on the clip.
Step 3: If you do not want to make any changes to the memory, click on the blue arrow in the lower right corner and select Recipients.
Step 4: If you want to edit the memory before sending it to your recipients, click the menu button (it is three dots in the top right corner).
Step 5: Tap the “Edit Snap” option.
Step 6: Using editing tools, you can now change elements like the title or add funny stickers or doodles. When done editing, follow the steps in step 3.
The thing here is, as long as you share your Snapchat memories, no one can see them. No one else can laugh as you do with your photos tagged on Facebook. If you want to add extra security, you can save the selected Snapchat memory to a secret album, which is only for your eyes and will be password protected.
